Hoye Crafts provides OEM and ODM customization support for buyers developing private-label products, adapting existing items or sourcing products for specific retail and promotional programs.
Whether you need a wooden puzzle with your own artwork, a learning toy with revised colors, a wooden gift box with branded packaging or a product developed from a reference design, we review the product requirements before confirming feasibility, sampling arrangements and production details.
Our customization service covers product design review, material and specification selection, branding, packaging and order coordination. The available options depend on the product category, construction, order quantity and intended market.
OEM vs. ODM: Which Service Do You Need?
We support two common approaches to customized product sourcing. The suitable option depends on whether you already have a defined product design or need help developing a product concept.
OEM: Manufacture to Your Specifications
OEM is suitable for buyers who already have a product design, sample or clearly defined specifications and need a supplier to manufacture accordingly.
Typical OEM requests include:
- Producing a wooden puzzle from buyer-supplied artwork
- Adjusting product dimensions to match a retail or educational program
- Applying a specified color scheme or product finish
- Adding a brand logo to the product or packaging
- Manufacturing wooden boxes according to supplied dimensions and design references
What to provide: Drawings, reference images, product samples, dimensions, material requirements, artwork and packaging specifications, as applicable.
ODM: Develop or Adapt a Product Concept
ODM is suitable for buyers who want to select from existing product options or develop a product by modifying an existing design.
Typical ODM requests include:
- Selecting an existing wooden toy and adapting its colors or appearance
- Combining product features to suit a particular retail collection
- Developing a wooden gift item from a reference concept
- Reviewing suitable product shapes, sizes and packaging options
- Discussing design changes for a target customer group or sales channel
What to provide: Your product concept, target market, intended use, reference products, preferred features, target price range and estimated order quantity.

How Our OEM/ODM Process Works
We review each project in stages so that product expectations, customization requirements and order conditions can be clarified before bulk production.
Step 1: Submit Your Requirements
Send us your existing product reference or new product concept. Include the target quantity, destination market, preferred materials, dimensions, branding requirements and packaging details wherever available.
Step 2: Product & Feasibility Review
We review the proposed design and customization scope, including:
- Whether an existing product can meet your requirements
- Which design or specification changes are needed
- Whether the requested material, finish and branding are feasible
- Whether the packaging can be produced as specified
- Whether the requested quantity is suitable for the proposed customization
- Which product safety or documentation requirements need to be clarified
Step 3: Quotation & Order Conditions
After the main requirements are clear, we confirm the applicable quotation and order conditions.
The quotation may depend on product dimensions, materials, design complexity, customization methods, packaging, order quantity and shipping requirements. MOQ, tooling or setup charges, sample costs and lead times are confirmed for the specific project rather than assumed to be the same for every product.
Step 4: Sample Development & Review
Where sampling is required, the sample is prepared according to the agreed specifications and available production arrangements.
You can review the sample for appearance, dimensions, colors, workmanship, branding and packaging details, as applicable. Any requested changes should be documented and evaluated before approval.
For more complex projects, additional sample rounds may be needed. The sample arrangement and associated costs are confirmed in advance.
Step 5: Sample Approval & Production Confirmation
Before bulk production, both sides should confirm the approved product details, order quantity, packaging, labeling, delivery requirements and other agreed conditions.
For customized products, the approved sample and final specifications provide the reference for production. Any subsequent changes should be reviewed for their possible effect on cost, lead time and product consistency.
Step 6: Bulk Production & Quality Checks
Production follows the confirmed order requirements. Checks can be arranged according to the product and agreed inspection scope, including relevant dimensions, appearance, workmanship, branding and packaging.
Specific inspection points should be agreed before production or inspection begins. Product testing and compliance documentation must also be confirmed according to the product and destination market.
Step 7: Packing & Shipment Coordination
Before shipment, the order's packing and shipping arrangements are coordinated according to the confirmed order terms.
Buyers should confirm carton or packaging requirements, shipping marks, labeling, delivery destination and required documents in advance, particularly for private-label or multi-item orders.
Samples Before Bulk Production
A sample can help buyers assess whether the proposed product matches the intended design and purchasing requirements before committing to a larger order.
A sample review can cover:
- Overall appearance and dimensions
- Color and artwork presentation
- Surface finish and workmanship
- Logo placement and branding
- Component arrangement
- Packaging format, where included
For existing products with minor changes, the sampling requirements may differ from those for a newly developed design. Sample availability, preparation time, charges, shipping costs and the number of revision rounds should be confirmed for each project.
